Born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1948, attended Morris Brandon Elementary and Georgia Military Academy (’66); grew up in Northwest Atlanta and attended Trinity Presbyterian Church. Eagle Scout (’61); attended World Jamboree in Greece (’63); lived in Charlottesville, Virginia (’66-’70); San Diego, California (’70-’71); Macon, Georgia (’72-’75); moved to Zebulon, Georgia, in ’75.

Church: Member of Friendship Presbyterian Church, Concord, Georgia.

Boy Scouts: Eagle Scout Badge (’61); Scoutmaster: ’73-’74; ’76-’79; ’88-’89; currently serving as Asst. Scoutmaster, Troop 123.

State v. Mitchell (Spalding Superior Court, 1996): Charges: murder, aggravated stalking and assault. Verdict: acquittal.

Bergland v. Harris (11th Cir.) 767 F.2d. 1551 (1985): Ballot access case. Result: lowered ballot requirements

Chandler v. Miller, ___U.S.___ (1997): Drug testing of candidates for political office. Result: 8-1 reversal holding law unconstitutional.
